How we check
Board and kit specs are checked against the manufacturer's product page before anything is published, and each page links its source and the date it was checked.
How a verdict is decided
A kit won't work if the memory type doesn't match, it has more sticks than the board has slots, or more capacity than the board supports. It works with caveats if the board can't reach the kit's speed, the profile is made for the other CPU brand, or it's a four-stick DDR5 kit. Otherwise it's compatible. Expected speed is the lower of the kit's rated speed and the board's maximum.
QVL
When a kit appears on the motherboard maker's qualified vendor list for that board, the result says so. Kits off the list usually work as well.
